Hi!
ReplyDeleteWhen you say one on one, do you mean teachers to students or students to computers? If it's the latter, how awesome would that be? The only problem would be that the teacher doesn't always have enough eyes to make sure everyone is doing the right thing at all times. How would you use computers in you classroom?
Hi, Arielle!
ReplyDeleteI mean computers. I got a class set of laptops from my district to begin turning my room into a 21st century model for the district.
To tackle the problem you bring up, I'm getting monitoring software that allows you to see what each screen has on it at all times! Cool, right?! It also allows you to control the computers from yours - lock them out, log them in and out, pull up software, etc... :) With my P-Board, I can even project the monitoring screen so I can move about the room and still see what everyone's doing!
There's a TON of ways I'll be using the computers. I'll be keeping a blog for my district about my adventures in an effort to show them that the investment should be district wide! You can follow along if you'd like... http://mulanax.blogspot.com
Deana,
ReplyDeleteI look forward to hearing more about what you discover in your research. I would love a 1:1 classroom with my fifth graders, not just for math but other subjects as well! Your topic is interesting and very relevant to your teaching!
Deana,
ReplyDeleteI think that this is a great idea and I think that you are blessed to be able to implement the technology into your class. I can not wait to get more information on this.
